How do we know what we don't know?
We
improve our well being when we learn to fully use
ourselves. Our intelligence depends upon the opportunity we take to
experience
and learn on our own. This self learning leads to full, dynamic living.
Ordinarily, we learn just enough to
function. For
example, we learn to use our hands well enough to eat, our legs well
enough to
walk. Our abilities to function with a greater range of ease and skill,
however, remain to be developed. The Feldenkrais Method® teaches -through movement -how we can improve our
capabilities to function in our daily lives.
How does it work, and
why has Feldenkrais such a large
field of application?
Very simple! It
works with your nervous system. Our
nervous system organizes and regulates every aspect of our life / body.
Why is
a muscle tight? Because the brain tells it
to. Very often these restrictions come out of
old habits. They are conditioned.
Consciously these patterns are not available anymore.
Feldenkrais
Practitioners are trained in detecting
these restrictions and releasing them. Giving your brain new
ways to do
whatever it is you want to do.
This
is why people from all walks of live can use it.
Whenever you need to improve, whatever it is. The Feldenkrais Method® is
the
most powerful way to gain full access to your potential.

Functional Integration® (FI) is a
hands-on individual session. The Feldenkrais® practitioner guides
the client
as to how he/she can organize his/her body
through guided movement patterns. These lessons are
custom tailored to the
unique needs
of the individual at that moment. The touch is always gentle and
induces a deep state of relaxation. As a effect clients often feel more
grounded and experience more flow and ease in their movement. Pain and
discomfort disappear. Performance improves.
Group work: Mindful Movement Classes, or
"Awareness through Movement®" (ATM)
classes
you are guided through special designed sequences of movement which
allow you to
dive deeply into your awareness/nervous system, into your patterns of
movement,
and slowly exchange old patterns with new ones. The increased
awareness allows new ways of movement which brings
improvement from pain and increases performance. The effects can be similar as in the "hands-on" sessions.

Chronic Pain:- Very often chronic pain results out of habitual holding patterns that slip the mind. By giving your body/nervous system new ways of moving chronic pain often disappears. The Feldenkrais Method is very often successfully used to make chronic pain a thing of the past.

Unfortunately it is a subject loaded with a lot of pressure, commerce
and frustration. Making it an honest subject is important. I also
counsel couples and individuals on the
subject sex.
